Our way of looking at health is broken. Fact.
Ignoring Our Body’s Signals

When did we move so far away from understanding that our body has needs? Our body is talking to us all the time and yet we ignore it, every single day. Symptoms need addressing, they are not to be ignored. So why do we?
The Temptation of Quick Fixes
A quick fix pill seems so much easier to take than actually putting in the work to eat the right foods, move in the right way, take the time to sleep and rest and repair – urgh it all feels like soooo much effort. So isn’t it just easier to pretend you’re not really poorly and take a tablet to make it all go away? Doesn’t it mean that you’re better if you’re not feeling the symptoms any more?
The Danger of Masking Symptoms
Well I hate to break it to you, but this is the most craziest and worst thing about Western medicine; because we’re missing a chance to listen. You take a tablet to cover over a symptom? Your body still has a problem. All you’ve done is numbed it down and drowned it out. But the problem is still there. The problem still needs dealing with.
Why You Should Care
The trouble is, when you don’t deal with the problem and you keep on shoving sticking plasters over symptoms, your body is brewing imbalances and issues inside it that will need to come up at some point. This then HAS to be something bigger. It HAS to be something that you will listen to. Perhaps cancer? Perhaps a heart attack? Perhaps an autoimmune condition? Perhaps diabetes? Your body WANTS you to know it needs help. Listening now prevents the big stuff from hitting later down the line.
Small Symptoms, Big Consequences
It’s hard to write this because I know not everyone wants to hear it but I’m sad to say it’s true. The big illnesses – they don’t come out of nowhere. The little illnesses, the small symptoms, are the foundations being built slowly but surely, and when we ignore them, we miss our chance to act preventatively – to stop ourselves from ever getting to the big stuff.
Don’t Ignore the Root Cause
So don’t just leave it. Don’t just ignore it. Don’t think your symptom disappearing because a tablet covered it over means you’ve really dealt with the root cause. The root cause is NEVER about symptom suppression. Head here to learn 8 Powerful ways Systematic Kinesiology can Change your Life
